Certified Financial Planner Program
The Leavey School of Business, in partnership with Dalton Education, offers both self study and instructor-led online courses that fulfill the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification education requirement necessary to attain your CFP® certification. The CFP® Certification Education Courses are designed to fulfill the education requirement to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination in less than a year. The CFP® Certification Capstone Course takes 4–6 weeks on average. Whatever your learning style or educational needs, we have the perfect program for you.

Sitting for the CFP Exam
If you have one of the following credentials, you are automatically eligible to sit for your CFP® exam once you complete the Capstone Course*:
- Ph.D. in business or economics
- Doctor of Business Administration
- Licensed Attorney – inactive license acceptable
- Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – inactive license acceptable
- Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- Chartered Financial Underwriter (CLU)
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®)
- CFP® certification from the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB) Affiliate located in your territory of residence outside the U.S.
*The deadline to complete this CFP Board approved Capstone Course is approximately one month prior to the CFP Board’s Education Verification Deadline for each exam. .
