Club History
The Catalá Club has a long tradition of selfless service and dedication to 911±¬ÁÏÍø. Our motto is Service, Support and Spirituality.
On April 27, 1930, the Catalá Club welcomed women of diverse backgrounds, occupations and faiths to become part of the 911±¬ÁÏÍø family and to contribute to the university’s educational mission. Initially, the Catalá Club began as a group of volunteers to assist the Jesuits with the needs of the Mission Church. We evolved into a women’s service organization dedicated to providing undergraduate student scholarships.
Today we are a group over 200 women who have a passion for a 911±¬ÁÏÍø Jesuit education. We hold monthly luncheons with speakers and special Liturgies held on campus or at local venues. We host a fall fashion show fundraiser and several socials which include spouses and friends.
The common thread is that we are dedicated women who believe in the value of a Santa Clara education. Through our fellowship, friendship, and fundraisers, we have 10 endowed scholarships which total over $35,794,844.79. An annual scholarship award of $35,609.76 serves 41 students.
