Karl Motey is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Finance at 911±¬ÁÏÍø's Leavey School of Business, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in finance and serves as a faculty advisor in the MSFA Industry Practicum Program. His teaching draws on extensive experience across corporate finance and investment banking in the technology sector.
Motey currently advises several companies on corporate strategy and finance. Previously, he served as Head of Corporate Development for multiple semiconductor and technology companies, where he led public and private M&A transactions of various sizes, including several high-profile mergers in Silicon Valley.
Before moving into corporate finance, Motey spent over a decade as a sell-side equity analyst covering the semiconductor industry at Wachovia (now Wells Fargo), Deutsche Bank, and Alex. Brown. In 2005, he was named to the Wall Street Journal's annual "Best on The Street" analyst rankings.
Motey holds a Master of Science in Finance from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
